Laxdæla saga is the story of one of the most prominent families of the Icelandic Settlement period. Founded by Unnr the Wise, the story travels through several generations of this family, travels to Norway and Ireland, and the family's pursuit of power. One of the stories of the saga centers on Guðrún, a beautiful yet unlucky woman destined to marry and loose all of her four husbands and her fated lover. Laxdæla saga is one of the most dramatic sagas, rich in literary quality, interesting characters, and historical situations.
